TikTok overtakes Facebook as World’s Most Downloaded App
“TikTok was the most downloaded social media app with around 65% million installs in the entire world. TikTok managed to Downloads over 850 million while Facebook has around 540 million downloads which is revealed by AppTopia in last December.”
TikTok is the Chinese video-sharing app, developed by China-based ByteDance in 2017. A global survey has revealed, “TikTok overtakes Facebook & other three apps own by US company and becomes the world’s most downloaded social media app in 2021”.
The international version of TikTok has now, surpasses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger in download, which of them are owned by Facebook. According to the latest report in June 2021 from Sensor Tower, TikTok was moved to the number one app; despite data safety issues, content concerns, and various ongoing controversies.
